Requesting Modification

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: NY

I am wondering if I am able to file for a modification for child support due to me missing my court date and the amount being set in my absence. I was present for the initial hearing which was postponed for 2 months and at the initial hearing I provided all the requested documents. I did forget the date of the second hearing and went to work per usual. They did set the amount in my absence and it stated I did not provide the documents requested. It was also set at the amount of one child when I have two that I pay support. The person who I am paying the support to has my child in a temporary custody situation and she will be going back with her mother sometime between now and February. Do I have the ability to request the modification so I can present my expenses and other pertinent information? Or since it's only a temporary placement is it not worth the time it will take to go back in front of the judge? I am not looking for a scolding because I know I was in the wrong to miss, I just want to know what I am able to do from here. The court is basing support on outdated financial information.
