My question involves vehicle registration or title in the state of New York. I have to surrender my plates to serve a civil penalty for an insurance lapse for several weeks. My inspection is due now. Should I get it expected before the plate surrender so that I can re-register once it's time? I was confused by the DMV website saying that I needed destroy everything including my inspection sticker. Thanks
