Speeding Tickets: Possible Defenses 52 in 35

My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: Georgia

Facts:
City of Snellville, on Hwy 78 near SR124
Detected by laser from 495.4 ft.
Laser info: Serial #10780 Calibration: 0830
Alleges 52mph in a 35mph zone.
Last ticket about 4 years ago (79 in a 70), before that, 14 year ago (nolo plea on following too closely)
Medium traffic while in left lane.

Motorcycle cop was parked on a raised concrete median/gore to my right (kind of device that prevents left turns and guides traffic). Is it legal for them to park illegally to shoot laser?
Could he have accidentally picked up another car from <500ft? Ticket specifies medium traffic, there were other cars near me.
Forgot to ask for the laser radar to confirm, he didn't offer.

Approaching speed limit is 45, then reduces to 35, pass a school (with 35 when flashing, same as speed limit) then within sight of officers location is a 45mph sign. I was not in the school zone and lights were not flashing. 17mph over is 2 points apparently so I'd like to get those quashed for sure.

If I don't feel like my defense is sufficient, do I go to court early, ask to speak to the solicitor and offer a guilty plea for no point and a reduced fine? Can I reschedule the day of court if I see the officer? If I plead nolo is it like a 50/50 shot my car insurance won't find out? Amica Auto Insurance.

Any help would be appreciated.
