My question involves personal property located in the State of: Indiana
I owned a dog with my ex. He originally purchased the dog as a gift for me and I have cared for it since. I have the microchip in my name as well as all vet records. I had possession of the dog and allowed him weeken visits until he decided not to give the dog back last weekend. I am in Indiana and would like to file in small claims court, but want to know your opinion on whether it would be worth it.
Also, my ex claims that I broke into his house and stole the dog. He has possession of the dog, but did file a police report and I recently got a call from a detective. Not sure if that would be relevant.
