My question involves a traffic ticket from the state of: California
I recently fought a ticket via written declaration. I was found guilty but the form sent to me by the court with the judge's decision and signature does not tell me why or how I was found guilty. Is this normal? I am really curious to find out what the officer's statement/declaration (whatever it should be called) said, and also why the judge decided I was guilty. If I were to do trial de novo, I would want that information, right?
I spoke with a traffic clerk who told me the form they sent me was all they received as well. I tried calling the records dept. but was not able to get a human on the line.
I likely won't fight via trial de novo but I am grossly curious to know why my defense did not work in my favor and some other things I am grossly curious about.
Thanks.
