My question involves court procedures for the state of: Alaska
I filed against a previous landlord for failure to return our deposit and failure to provide receipts as to why he kept it. He failed to respond to the court so a judgment was issued against him. He then filed for a motion to dismiss the judgment on grounds that he "didn't know it was 20 consecutive days" to respond. (Turns out he has numerous small claims against him so that's not a valid reason.) However the courts granted it and moved it to trial district court. Now it shows "district court complaint". What does that mean.
