Calculation of Support: How is Child Support Calculated When a Parent Pays the Alternative Minimum Tax

My question involves a marriage in the state of: support modification 10 years after and AMT is a factor. According to the instructions for AMT in the calculator (they might be wrong... I know) but it says that for the Adjusted Loss or Gain section that you're supposed to use the difference between your regular taxable income and the AMT taxable income.

Example:

Regular Taxable Income = $284,979 (shown on CA Income Tax Summary Page 1.)
AMT Taxable Income = $308,365 (shown on AMT Form 6251 line 28)

The difference they are asking for for this line item is $23,386 or 1949/mo. Here's what we NEED to find out... does the AMT section of this guideline calculator require the user to enter the monthly amount or is it using the raw total amount... which make sense... to figure out the amount of AMT Tax you paid and remove it from the picture? Our CPA is checking on this but he said it makes sense because we pay roughly 48% tax rate and you simply don't have the same net disposable income after AMT as you would if you didn't pay AMT. There is no place to enter the actual tax you pay for AMT which for this year is $12,344... I think they calculator is designed to use the actual amount listed on form 6251 amount for an override? No one in Northern CA seems to know the answer to this. New wife had a support mod earlier in year for her daughter and DCSS attorneys and the judge in the case said in 6 years this was their first AMT case. In hearing today no one seems to be able to definitely answer HOW this calculator is supposed to be used when AMT is involved.
