My mother recently passed away and left me and my sibling as majority beneficiaries on all of her ira/annuity accounts. We are also verified as beneficiaries on her 401k but we recently learned that since she was married, her husband will receive 100% of her 401k since he apparently did not sign a spousal waiver form. I believe that she was completely unaware of this, considering she made it very clear to all of us how she wanted her money to be distributed.
So my question is, since we are listed as beneficiaries, do we have any legal ground to stand on here?
