Regarding License Agreement in Us Law

Good day, fellow IP enthusiasts,

The question might be rather embarassing, but please bear in mind that I live and practice in the far distant East european land of Romania.

I would very much appreciate if any of you could point me to a legal norm that defines the notion of "licence agreement", as regards to copyright.

I am writing a paper on copyright infringement through the internet, and I came across the notion of copyright licence agreement on iTunes' "Terms of Agreement". We do not use this notion here, we can pretty much license anything else, but not copyright (patents, trade marks, design rights and registration). Of course, there is an equivalent institution employed by our copyright law, that of the cession of rights, which may not be the exact same. Therefor, I would like to reffer to an act of law that defines the general term of licence agreement.

Thank you and best of whishes,
Andrew
