Establishing an Order: Financial Affidavit Revision

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Texas. My daughter signed an affidavit that was only only has her signature on it and a public notary stamp. The notary stamp/signature was done post my daughter signing this "affidavit". My daughter has agreed to give the father of her son Primary custody of my grandson and she will have secondary. My daughter noticed a sentence in the affidavit that states she is not "mentally or financially capable of caring" for my grandson. This is inaccurate and we are requesting revision of the document. We have a copy of this document and want to know if this is a legal document. It has been filed, but no court hearing or actual court order exists at this point. Can this "affidavit" be challenged? Does my daughter need an attorney? The document was poorly written and has many grammatical errors.
