Social Security Issues: SSI Back Pay and Student Loans

Hello friends all,

I hope I am posting my question correctly because i really need an answer. I understand that Supplemental Security Income payments cannot be
garnished for default student loans. My question is... Does the same apply to SSI BACK PAY ? If I am owed SSI back pay, can my benefit check
be offset/garnished if it's SSI Back Pay ?
