My boyfriend and I have been together for 10 years and we have an 8-year-old daughter. I have been receiving ssdi for about 6 years now and now my boyfriend and I are breaking up. Social Security gives $200 each month for our daughter, he is concerned that once our separation is final he will be the one paying instead of ss. I believe this is accurate however I don't know exactly how any of that works.
