My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Pennsylvania
I am worried about my 9 year old granddaughter. Both of her biological parents are addicted to heroin, and my daughter is also an alcoholic, who just split from her fiance who has raised my granddaughter as his own, since she was 3 months old. He has financially and emotionally supported her since she was an infant, while the biological father hasn't supported her in any way, and has been in and out of prison and rehab all of her life. She doesn't even want to see her biological father because she says she doesn't like him.
My daughter has her own set of issues involving drugs, alcohol, and 2 stays in rehab so far, which has not helped her. She would start using heroin again soon after getting out of rehab both times. She has also overdosed 3 times, and the biological father has also overdosed several times.
I'm very concerned with the welfare of my granddaughter now, and feel she would be better off if she were to remain with her non biological daddy.
What are the chances of him getting sole custody of my granddaughter if he has my husband and myself supporting him in court? Please help me, I'm not sure what we can do to protect her. Thank you so much for any advice you can give.
