My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of:
2011, After the 3rd and 9th month of staying, the apartment was sprayed because of bugs problem. The apartment complex has rats, cockroaches and termites. Water got cold sometimes during the winter. Utility bills were shared among the tenants but several illegal tenants lived there, too. The infested living place forced me to move out because I couldn't allow my 18 months old baby to suffer as well. I went to Housing department and the advisor said that I could break the lease due to the infestation.
2016, I was sued for moving out 3 months before contract ended. But the apartment company refunded part of my deposit after subtracting the fixing costs. How could they said that I abandoned the apartment?
