Search and Seizure: Police Moved Evidence Before Documenting its Position

My question involves police conduct in the State of: Michigan
I am looking for case law that would pertain to police misconduct, or negligence with an investigation. I have proof, photo evidence, that officers moved items before they were documented. Mainly a knife that was collected as an alleged weapon. However, this item is in one position during a walk through of scene and then this item is moved, repositioned, when an evidence marker is placed next to it to document its location. There is clear evidence that this item was moved from its first position to the position it was then marked and documented in. There are another number of items that were moved before photos taken and before evidence markers placed and documented. With police moving an alleged weapon, with no cause, no safety issue etc, just moved it, would this be grounds for suppression of evidence.
