My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: CALIFORNIA
Hello,
I am currently a probationary employee at a professional science company.
For my first week of work, I worked for nearly 40 hours within four days; I started on a Tuesday.
Tuesday: ~9 hours
Wednesday: ~9 hours
Thursday: ~10 hours
Friday: ~11 hours
Total of 36.9 Hours in four days with ~0.5-1 hour of lunch a day.
I was only paid for 21 hours.
How should I proceed with this?
Does the fact that I am a probationary employee/in training mean that there will be times where I will not be paid for making a mistake while working?
I am also taking a 4 unit class, ~6 hours a week but I don't think my work knows this.
Thank you.
