Disputing Debts: Judgement on Credit Report Not Mine

My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: GA

Working through a mortgage that is set close 9/19. The mortgage company informed me today that there is a judgement on my credit report. After a bit of research I discovered the individual that filed the judgement is in property management but I have no affiliation with him whatsoever. I pulled a copy of the judgment from the magistrate court and my name is not listed as a defendant. And there is no other information that ties me into the defendant. I informed the mortgage company this and they requested a signed letter from the plaintiff that the judgment is not against me. I contacted the plaintiff and he agreed that the judgement was not against me and that we had no affiliation but he refused to provide a signed letter for reasons unknown.

I did provide a copy of the judgment to the mortgage company in hopes that we can proceed. Additionally, I have filed disputes with the credit reporting agencies but that may take a while which would impact closing and potentially cost me money.

Any thoughts on how to proceed?
