Hello
My son was backing out of a parking spot at night. He confirmed there were no vehicles coming. As he was backing out a car came from across the parking lot and tried to zoom in in the spot next to him. They collided.
We live in Texas. At the time they exchanged phone numbers and no other information. I am not concerned with my sons vehicle but the other party is not threatening to call the police at this later time.
My son has passengers in the car and they all said that the other car was not coming from the correct way but instead was cutting across the lot. Being that is was dark he should have also been able to see the reverse lights on etc.
At this point Im not sure how to handle this, who's fault etc. I feel perhaps it was 50/50?
Any advice appreciated.
