My question involves criminal records for the state of: Ohio
So I was arrested in June 2013, appeared in count and pled guilty to misdemeanor petty theft in July 2013. I was sentenced to community service, pay $300 in fees and 1 year probation which I completed all accordingly. It's now March 2016 and about 2 weeks ago I went myself and filed an application to seal my record. Today I received in the mail a letter that says my court date is set for next Thursday.
I am just wanting some advice (I'm not asking on what to say word for word) just some tips on what to say, how the process is going to go, and even other people's own expungement hearing experiences. Also is it a bad idea to be representing myself? I've done a lot of research online about expungement and it seems pretty straight forward but am I being naive? Also I have a one and a half year old son that I kind of have no choice but to bring with me but will that be really bad? Will it make me look unprofessional? I have no family or friends who could watch him, I guess I could search for a last minute baby sitter if I had to but will it bad if I bought him with me?
I am super nervous and scared because I hate public speaking especially to authority, I'll stutter a lot because I'm so nervous. I just want alittle more knowledge about what's going to happen to ease my mind alittle.
