A company has discharged my girlfriends debt but one of the three reporting agencies is still reporting a balance owed. She posted this as income on her taxes. The credit company says that it's reporting appropriately but when she calls to ask they will not say whether or not She owes them money. One higher up said that she can make a payment if she wants but when she asks how much does she owe the rep stated I didn't say she owed anything. Craziest thing I have ever seen. Is this legal?
