My question involves real estate located in the State of: Oregon
My city wants to move the boundaries to include us in the city limits and to move us from the Urban Growth Reserves, into the Urban Growth Boundary zone. They have long term plans to develop residential lots on our, and our two neighbors properties, and to build roads thru the general area. They have a comprehensive plan, and this will only happen if they meet other goals within other areas of the city.
My questions are:
-What are our rights as property owners and how much control do we have over this happening?
-If we were to sell after ten years or so, can we make a lot more money selling it (for development) than if we were to sell it to someone who would just use it as a residence like us?
-We are currently zoned EFU or Exclusive Farm Use. Is this going to change our zoning?
Perhaps this should be under an eminent domain subject?
I guess that's it. Please help.
