My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Florida
I was pulled over on 12/31/2017 and given a citation for "Financial Responsibility - Driving while DL suspended" 324.201(2). The officer was very nice and only took my license but let me drive the vehicle home and also didn't remove my tag (while also not giving me the speeding ticket he initially pulled me over for ). I have a court date for 1/17/18. I knew that my insurance had expired (due to financial hardships from Hurricane Irma and home repair), but I was completely and honestly unaware of the Drivers License Suspension. I have already reinstated my car insurance and have an appointment for Friday to pay the $150 to have my license reinstated.
With all the actions taken...
Reinstate Insurance
Take proof of insurance to tag office to show on registration
Pay $150 fine to have license restarted and regain license
...when I arrive to the court date, will the judge take favor on me due to my situation and quick action? I have never been in trouble before with only a few minor speeding tickets. I have never seen the inside of a courtroom and am concerned at what to expect and what penalties/punishments I may be facing.
