I have a Georgia driver's license but I am currently residing in NC. I haven't lived here long so I haven't updated my license yet, and all the bills are in my wife's name which makes updating my license difficult.
I pawned a .22LR (HEAVILY modified) in NC. I made sure to ask when I pawned it what I would need to get it out of pawn and the owner informed me I would only need my driver's license. I used the GA license and NC address when I pawned the gun, but when I went back today to get it out of pawn the same man said I would have to update my license so it matched the address or bring in two proofs of residence.
I told him I could bring in the bills with my wife's name (because I work during the week and most Saturdays) and our marriage certificate. He told me that wouldn't work and he can't give my gun back unless I update my license to match the address, which I need two proofs of residence for. Can he refuse to give my gun back when he used the same paperwork to get it from me?
