My daughter just received back pay for SSI and will receive back SSDI pymnts next week. I (representative payee)will open new account at bank for these and future funds. I have three questions:
1. Can I pay to myself part of the back pay to reimburse me for part of her living expenses that I have been paying for years? I myself went on disability two years ago and have been spending my savings to keep the household going for the two of us.
2. Can I collect from her for CURRENT rent/utilities/food?
3. If I can collect from her, do I need to report it as income, pay tax on it, and will it affect my own disability.
Just FYI....my disability is physical, hers is mental.
