My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: CA
I just purchased a bag of licorice. I opened the bag and ate several pieces. I then dumped bag into a ziploc to keep it fresh and discovered rat feces in it. I inspected bag I opened and it came from manufacturer that way. Not only am I disgusted that I actually unknowingly ate infested licorice but I am now concerned that I could possibly get ill from it. I want to speak with my phyiscian but do not have extra funds to pay for it . I do not have health insurance. I am also currently recovering from flu/pneumonia.
What are my legal options?
PS I have all packaging and receipt and some of licorice in bag also appears to be shredded and broken. There are feces in bag and small black dots on pieces of licorice.
