My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Virginia
Ill try to keep this concise and to the point. My wifes car threw a Low Coolant message in October. We pulled over at an Autozone, topped it off and headed home. That next day, I checked for leaks, put cardboard under the car overnight, nothing. Bit the bullet and took it to the dealer. Thankfully (we thought) it was diagnosed as a leaky cap on the reservoir. I purchased a new reservoir and cap, installed them and we were happy.
Then last Tuesday I went to start her car to warm it up and it wont run. Tow it to the dealer, tell them the symptoms and they now say its a cracked head, with coolant in cylinder 3. The service rep said its a known issue with these motors and Ford recommends a new motor at $6500. We owe $6000 on the car. Am I wrong to be upset that they didnt mention the known issue in October? I wouldve never driven it if I had known this couldve happened.
Thank you for your time
