My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: new Hampshire
So i travel quite a bit very far distance for work I'm in the high voltage construction industry, and work all over the United States. I was preparing for a job and I went to Wal-Mart for an oil change. I've never seen anything like it. I was driving 2500 miles from one corner to the other of the United States, I noticed a knock and I opened my hood and noticed the cap was gone, I assumed the knocking was from air flow into the motor because that occurred with my car before, I figured the issue was solved, I was wrong. Somewhere on the trip the drain plug was lost whether it was there at all I can't be certain, I checked my oil at about 300 miles into yhe trip and it was low but nothing noticeably going on at about 500 miles knocking began witch is when I noticed the top cap i replaced immediately, at about 1200 miles from home and the same to where I'm going the knocking became very dramatic, I pulled in to a gas station checked my oil. Bone dry. I jacked it up and saw the plug waa gone I managed to make shift and air tight drain plug filled the engine with my standard oil and ran the car the knocking is continuing after an hour of running its shaking and the tone has changed and is stalling out after ideling for more than a minute. Im certain theres damage (ironically ive always done my own oil change im normally religuois about it but i had to leave short notice so i decided to have it done professionally first time in 5 years, don't like doing it because a 30$ job could easily turn into costly repair and now my fear has cane true )I don't know how long is been dry like that but I am certain if I drive it it will blow at the very least piston plugs need to be replaced potentially more so now I'm looking at a costly repair being stranded in the middle of the country unable to get to work, I will miss 5 days of work witch for me is 2000$ hotel costs witch in the area I'm in the cheapest is 89 a day for up to 3 days, a repair of at least 1500. I contacted the Wal-Mart is what done they seemed baffled, I want to sue l don't want a profit neccisarly but I want to be reinpursed for my financial and personal hardship because now I'm not only looking at an expensive solution I'm stranded in the middle of nowhere and I mean nowhere I'm in back woods Kentucky 100 miles to anything bigger then a small town.
After reaching out to manager I managed threw my own means to get into the contact with the mechanic who agreed to take the responsibility of this issue if j can get i. Front of a judge as long as be can remain anonymous to his employer and confirm that an error did take place and was not realized till I left in exchange for a friendly favor assuming all of my side is factual do I have a case what are my options what's would be my best course of action
