My question involves estate proceedings in the state of: Alabama.
My father passed 2 months ago. My middle sister had POA because she lived next door to my father. Myself and my other sister live in nearby cities (1 hour away). After my father became ill my sister started acting weird, she didn't want me or my sister to visit my father (we did anyway). After my fathers death I asked about the will. She informed me that there was not a will & never had been ?? Strange since had seen and read the will along with my younger sister. The will stated that I (the oldest) was named executrix, & all property was to be divided equally. She has since moved into my fathers home (mom died 8 years ago) & taken control over all his accounts & property. This smells strange to me, I was very close to my father. My sister & I have asked her what is going on but she refused to answer our questions. What should we do ? Do we not have the right to see any legal documents making her sole heir ? If he did fine, but I want to have some closure.
