My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of North Carolina
I had an incident where my Roommates boyfriend charged at me with the obvious intent of hitting me (let's call her, my roommate, Lindsey and her boyfriend Luke). One of my other roommates called Lindsay a bitch. Luke thought I had said that so he charged at me with his fists up. I was able to difuse the situation but he did get to within about a foot of me.
All of my roommates have decided that we no longer feel safe having Luke in the apartment as he clearly has anger issues. It's been about a month and Lindsay has decided that she thinks Luke should be allowed back in and has told us multiple times that we are being unfair and she's going to bring Luke in.
We don't know if legally we have any right to a restraining order, or if we have the ability to use the fact that were all on the lease to make sure he stays out. We all signed the same lease that does not say anything about guests.
Thank You!
