My question involves adoption law for the State of: Massachusetts
I was wondering if anyone knew the step by step proccess of a contested stepparent adoption? My husband and I attend the preliminary hearing next week with our lawyer, but I still wish that I knew more to be prepared. His ex also served us with a motion for vistation last week which we are still waiting for a hearing date. However the adoption and motion are in 2 seperate courthouses so I'm not sure if this will affect the adoptipn process. I know that I'm going to get told to follow what the lawyer says and that you can't expect rights to be dropped from bio mom. My husband and I are just asking some friendly advice and we would really appreciate any help. Thanks so much!!
