My question involves personal property located in the State of: Illinois. I received a Miller brand welder valued around $900 as a birthday present from my fiance at the time, i left for the Marine corps a few months later and we eventually ended the relationship. She has since given the welder that I had kept at her mother's to her new boyfriend and refuses to give it back. Is it legally still mine or is it just a lost cause now? Any reference to the illinois law regarding this would be much appreciated.
