My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: CA
I received a 6 unit rent controlled apartment complex as an inheritance.
I do not want to be a landlord and would like to sell the property. In order to sell the property, it was suggested that I try and remove all the tenants prior to selling. All of the leases are month to month at this point. 1 unit's lease has been lost but from I gather, it was the parent that had the lease and the child has taken over the payment of the rent.
Do I have any legal way of getting the tenants to move besides asking them or paying them out to move? Due to the rent control, finding another place to move to would almost double their current rent payment.
