Estate Assets and Debts: Am I Legally Obligated to Pay for My Deceased Father's Ems Bill

My question involves estate proceedings in the state of: California

Question on EMS / ambulance charges for coming to my (just deceased) father’s home:

Father (92) died in his sleep (mother preceded him in death by 5 yrs). When I called the police that morning, EMS services arrived soon thereafter and, after some time, took him to the hospital or morgue.

I am the sole trustee of my father’s revocable family trust and executor of his will and my question is about the EMS bill. It’s well over $2200. Seems awfully high. Must I pay it? I have mortuary fees etc. to consider as well. I ask because the only assets associated with my father’s SS number are in a small checking account (<$3000) and a very modest IRA account that names me as the beneficiary. Absolutely everything else is in the trust, e.g., the house, misc. belongings and major bank accounts are in the name of the trust which is associated with an EIN number—not his SS number.

If the EMS company gets aggressive, I assume they pursue the executor of the estate? Do I have any recourse or pushback, or do I just roll over and pay it out of the trust's assets?

Thank you for any thoughts or advice on the subject.
