My question involves a child custody case from the State of: NYC/Florida
In July of this year, my husband kicked me out of our home in NY for reasons I still don't know, and threatened to throw me out of the window. I called the police, filled out a report but sadly they said there was nothing they could do. So I was forced to stay in a hotel for a few nights, then I went to stay with my sister in Pennsylvania. My 3 children refused to stay with their father and came with me the night he kicked me out. While in Pennsylvania I decided to move to to Florida. I have enrolled my children in school here. I have been here in Florida now for 3 months. Before I left, I sent him Separation Papers which he never signed, so I have no copy of it. I also asked for Child Support which I have not gotten any yet. My question is this: How do I get a divorce being that I know he will not consent to it? The children ask him for money and he says no. I have asked and he won't send anything. I want a divorce. He is still in NY and I am in Florida. What can I do to get a divorce and get Child Support?
