My question involves criminal law for the state of: texas
have an assault charge from about 2 years ago in which the court appearance kept getting postponed for the first few months. Now its been about a year and a half since my last appearance. I contact my lawyer to find out when they will schedule next appearance in order to get it dismissed and he keeps telling me they havent decided yet. Its keeping me from work as each application I fill out asks if im currently being charged with anything. Once I put yes, I'm told they cant hire me right now until the matter is resolved. Is this normal? Is there something I can do to speed up the process as its going on two years now? thanks everyone
