My question involves real estate located in the State of: CA
We purchased our house in 2013. Last week our neighbor came to us showing survey drawing indicating that they have had been using our 750 sq ft of property since last 30 years. They have build garage and lawn plus other structures on that land. We have paid property tax on that land ever since we purchased the property. As far as I know they never paid taxes on that land. She wants to sell that property. Since we have paid taxes it is clear that she can't claim adverse possession. I have asked her to buy the land but she refuses to pay any money. She is selling the house and it is in escrow now and she wants to redraw the boundaries so the land can be included in her property. Can you please let me know my options? I am surprised this did not show up when we purchased the property. Is it worth while to approach the title company? I would appreciate any guidance.
