My question involves landlord-tenant law in the State of: Florida
Hello All,
Our Lease for our Apartment ends September 22nd, 2017. We have given notice to our Apartment Leasing Office that we will not be renewing the lease, and will be moving out. However, one of our roommates is refusing to vacate the premises on the move out date, and plans to stay on the property after the lease expires. The lease is solely in my name only, and the roomate in question is not on the lease. Is it possible to call the police on the move out date, and say my roomate is trespassing on the property and have the police remove him? It just concerns me that the lease is in my name, and that he'll be squatting on the property. The last thing I want is the apartment complex coming after me for my roomate squatting on the property. How should I proceed?
