Best Strategy to Resolve Past Due Support

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: FL

Now that the time sharing case is over:
Shared parental responsibility with long distance parenting plan (295[dad]/70[mom)

Im moving on to the child support issue and id like advice on how best to resolve. Its a bit of a mess because for about 6 years, ive been under an order to pay support to mom even though our son lived primarily with me. DOR stopped enforcement 5 years ago but the court order went untouched. A past due balance exists with the clerks but arrears have not been court ordered.

Should i try to convince the court to forgive the arrears due to the circumstances (possible in the past in FL)

or

Bargain with mom to forgive the arrears, possibly in exchange for not pursuing court costs and past due support from her?
