My question involves criminal law for the state of: Minnesota
Can you get charged with a crime, if someone you don't know made a false report that you made a claim to your insurance, even though you made a police report and gave your insurance company all of the information needed about the theft of your vehicle and who the people where that you believed had something to do with it being taken. The vehicle was recovered, but the person they recovered it from was not charges with any crime. You asked about getting your vehicle back after it was recovered from the insurance company, but the insurance company went ahead and filed a claim and closed it. Didn't hear anything more about it for several years, until someone made a false report, because the people believed to of being part of the vehicle being stolen are into with the person who made the false report. You do not have anything to do with their situation, but the person is retaliating against the other person, because you know who they are, but do not have anything to do with either party.
