My question involves criminal law for the state of: california
i was driving my bicycles, when a police car stopped me and started to search my bicycles.
i told the police officer to show me a warrant but he told me "relax this is not the movies" and "i dont need a warrant to search your bicycles".
when i asked a lawyer if i should sue the police for damages to my property he told me that unlike cars, the police can search bicycles without a warrant.
is this true ?
