Several years ago my mother was named the remainderman of a life estate. (The life tenant is her mother). My grandmother would like to revoke the life estate and place the property in an irrevocable trust. My mother is willing to do this. The problem is my mother is terminally ill, and will likely need to apply for Medicaid in the near future.
Will her transfer of the deed back to her mother be acceptable, or will the Medicaid look back count that as an unacceptable transfer?
