My question involves a child custody case from the State of: California
My ex and I have joint Legal and I have primary physical. He lives 6 hours away and is in the Navy working about 14-16 hours a day. He has already changed our 7 month old sons insurance from Standard to Prime, which means he can't see the doctor in town he has been seeing since birth and has to be seen on base which the closest one is 20-30 mins away from me. I believe when we are divorced I will no longer have access to the base and will have to get a visitors pass every time I take him to the doctors. Also I don't have a car right now since my ex totaled it so I have to borrow someone's car to take him or take the bus which takes an hour to get there. All of that is bad enough but now my ex wants me to schedule all of our sons doctors appointment around his schedule which is not flexible, and I remind you he lives 6 hours away. His visitation time is every other weekend and every other visitation is in his town which we share in driving, which I haven't even figured out how I'm going to do that yet. He's the father and he has every right to be at the appointments as I do which I have always informed him in advance if I could about his appointments but now to make appointments around his schedule it's almost impossible. Also before we had a court order and he was supposed to visit with our son for the day while he was in town he told me he wouldn't give him back and the next day was his doctors appointment so I showed up and he wouldn't let me hold our baby, wouldn't even let me touch him. He stayed on the other side of the room and barely even let him out of his arms for the doctor and was even yelling at me. I don't want to put my son through a negative environment like that again. Do I have to make appointments around his schedule or can I just make the appointments, inform him and if he goes he goes?
