My question involves potential traffic complaints from the state of: IOWA
My house is at the end of a public road serving a number of other residences, the owners of which we are familiar and whom none have any complaints about the rural crushed-stone pavement running out on my property, since there is a large derelict property between mine and the other households that nobody here wants to trespass, so I don’t have to otherwise mark my property for them.
Since we are all ok with my carrying a firearm to protect myself here (I have a bad heart, and the property is isolated), I do not need to mark or physically control public access to this property other than personally demand the public’s removal when present. This house is on top of a large, steep and picturesque hill, where I farm hybrids. The next occupied premise downhill has a rental, the renter there is large and threatening, walking up here to frighten my dog. I have called trespass complaints on that person, since I keep my dog on an electronic leash and the trespasser lures the dog down to the highway, which endangers her safety. The 911 responders have informed the trespasser that his actions are a danger to the public and will not be tolerated. Although I do not want to put off the bully’s landlord by getting a restraining order, I have the matter pretty well tied up in writs and rights, and I would like any further legal help you can offer in the way of neighborhood security. Specifically, I am most disturbed by having to warn him whenever I come home and see him walking or running, as he does, on the road. I think he is troublesome enough to reach in the window and do me harm while I am trying to use my driveway. I know it is criminal to introduce a harmful means through the window of an operating vehicle, so is there any law problem in connecting for my benefit the property line trespass and my use of privacy claims coming home from my other properties, in case he DOES?
