Medical Malpractice: Mother Passed Away After Visiting Emergency Room on Consecutive Days

My question involves malpractice in the state of: NC
My mother who is 86 was complaining of stomach pain and constipation she went to her doctor and was told by the PA she had gas and was told to take polyethylene glycol if the condition did not improve she should go to the emergency room. On Saturday I took her to the emergency room and they made xrays and thought she had a urinary track infection she was given lactose for the constipation and cephalexin for the infection. Her condition did not get any better and I took her back to the same emergency room and a different doctor looked at her and said the stomach was inflamed she was given omeprazole for the stomach pain and zofran for nausea. Both times I told the emergency room doctor that she had not eaten much in the last four days.

My mother passed on Monday at home. My question is should I have an altopsy done. Would this be a case of malpractice if the doctor did not admit my mother as she had been to the emergency room consecutive days with the same problem. When I asked the police officer about an autopsy he said her doctor was contacted and the doctor said her death was not unexpected as she did have two aneurysms. As the doctor agreed to sign the death certificate no autopsy could be done.
