Service and Repair: Autobody Shop Won't Warranty His Repairs

My question involves a consumer law issue in the State of: Michigan

Hi! I am the owner of a 01' Chevy Silverado 1500. It is an extended crew cab medium box. I had body repair done over the summer (It needed new rockers and cab corners as well as the tailgate repaired for rust, he also fixed an area above the wheel well as well as a dent on the back passenger side) and when i came back the job looked fantastic. I was really happy, (I paid 2,300 so i should be happy right?) well. after a while i noticed that there was bubbling as well as rust already forming on the spots they repaired. I hadn't driven the truck through anything except rain on the highway. I also noticed my third door wasn't shutting right on the drivers side. I inspect to see that the lever is jammed from someone slamming it repeatedly and the plastic is worn off. When i confronted him he said it wasn't them that i must have done something. I took it to the dealership and they said it looked like someone had slammed the bejesus out of it to jam it so badly they couldn't get it opened. I paid $270 to have a new lever installed. ($270 that was supposed to go towards my college tuition >:( )I brought it back to him and i have yet to pick it up. However i would like him to warranty the spots he's worked on and say there won't be anything else wrong with the spots he did for a maximum of 3 years. Am i wrong to want the warranty? I'm curious if his workers are even certified to work on cars as mechanics. I'm worried i jumped into a shark tank labled goldfish tank.
