My question involves criminal law for the state of: California. So I was engaging in exchanging some risque texts here not all that long ago, and I thought that the person I was texting gave the ok to go to the next level. To be clear, this person did not explicitly state that this was what was wanted, but definitely implied it. So I sent over an x-rated picture, and this caused a seriously negative reaction. After this, I sent no more pictures and only one or two texts, so I have not continued contact with this person. Could this be considered harassment? I didn't intend to harass the person, I simply escalated our conversation to where I (mistakenly) thought it was desired to go. Further, once the error became apparent, I stopped all activities.
