Hello. I've been under a lot of stress lately due to a family members illness, moving job, mostly the illness. I ended up asking a realtor to put some land up for sale that I own. I got an offer within two days and accepted the offer. However, after finally talking with my family about everything (the ill person, what the next step it, etc), I told them I put the land up for sale. They are very upset and long story short, I need to back out of the sale (this IS the short version). Since I signed a purchase agreement (but no closing date or anything), what kind of attorney do I need to talk to about backing out? I know there will be repercussions and I probably will owe the realtor money. What about the buyer? I'm not sure what to do. I feel awful. I'm just not thinking straight right now. Timeframe: it has been over 3 days, it's been about 10 days I think since I signed the agreement. I told the realtor and he told me to talk to an attorney. I don't even know what kind of attorney or where to start.
