My question involves juvenile law in the State of: California
okay guys, this might be a long story
so I'm 17 and I just started my senior year of high school. That being said, this past summer I was a little wild and I went really overboard doing stupid things, one of which being shoplifting. Basically, it kinda started when I was at a Rite Aid getting a body wash to wash one of my pets and I saw the makeup display (i'm a girl) and saw an item I really wanted but I didn't have any money to pay for it because I could only afford the body wash. So I went and grabbed the makeup item and that was it. I got away with it then and long story short, it kinda escalated. I didn't go to Rite Aid again, but I went to Target once or twice, to Ulta I think 3 times, and CVS twice (each time shoplifting a few makeup items)
This all obviously gradually piled up in my room and every time after I would shoplift I got a super super guilty feeling but that obviously didn't stop me from doing it again...
anyways.
last week my mom found out a couple things me and my friends have done this summer and after she found everything out she was pissed (duh) so she went through my room and she noticed all the extra makeup that she knew I had acquired by stealing (common sense). Now, fast forward a week, and I just got my first paycheck at my job and I've already decided to put everything this summer behind me, not look back, and never do any of it again. BUT, today after I got my paycheck and signed up for a checking account, my mom wants me to go BACK to Ulta etc., tell them what I did, and pay them for everything I stole (as if I was just buying it all)
My question is, I want to know if doing this will get me in trouble?? (as in, cops called, charges pressed, etc.)
she's asking me to go into the stores, bring what I stole, tell them I stole it, and pay for it all like i'm buying it. Is that even allowed? I'm expecting to get banned from all the stores but besides that what could happen..??
