Traffic Accidents: Careless Driving in New Jersey

My question involves an accident that occurred in the state of: New Jersey

I was in a car accident in which I was at fault. I was turning left into a business parking lot, the opposing traffic had stopped and waved me on to let me go. There were two lanes of opposing traffic, one in which the car was waving me on, and the other which was completely empty as I started my turn. Suddenly, a car appeared quickly and seemingly out of nowhere. I presume the driver was frustrated with waiting in traffic and noticed the empty lane and sped forward crashing into the front of my car at an extremely quick speed. I braked and was able to avoid significant damage to my car and passenger. The other driver was going so fast that it significantly moved my car spinning it so that I was facing the opposite way. Despite the frustrating nature of the incident, being that this driver was obviously speeding and (to me and my family) seemed intoxicated, I understand that I am at fault due to this being a left turn.

After everything was dealt with, I received a ticket for Careless Driving. I am aware that this comes with points as well as an $85 fine. I would like to avoid a huge increase in my insurance rate and wanted to see what the best way to avoid points would be. I am able to fight the ticket, as missing work is something I can do. However, I would like to avoid an expensive fine. I have read in other threads that I might be able get this changed to Unsafe Driving but I also learned that comes with a hefty fine. I also saw that I could try to get this changed into Obstructing Traffic. I was wondering what my best option would be to avoid points and significant fines?

To get more specific: the accident took place in Ocean City which is Cape May County, I have no points on my license, and I am a 20 year old female
