Asking on behalf of a friend and I am not a car expert, so please forgive that.
Took 2013 Honda van to oil change place, drove for a few days, loud noise and car completely dies. Take to mechanic, who suggests oil change person didn't tighten filter correctly. $1,800 repair. Shop is a self owned franchise, not part of corporate office.
What do you recommend in getting them to pay up for the damage? I think she should not go ahead and get fixed in case they have their own independent person they want to look at it. Also ensure that any parts are kept as evidence.
